What is Swords of Legends Online?
Swords of Legends Online is an action MMORPG first released in China under the name《古剑奇谭网络版》(Gu Jian Qi Tan Online) in 2018. The game takes its xianxia, or Chinese Fantasy, setting from the original GuJian RPG released in China in 2010. Both the original GuJian series, as well as SOLO, were developed by Aurogon Info & Tech, subsidiary of Wangyuan Shengtang Entertainment. In 2021, Gameforge licensed Swords of Legends Online for localization and release in the Western gaming community.
The game has been released with North American and European servers. SOLO is Buy to Play at $40, and is notable for completely avoiding Pay to Win features by maintaining funding through a robust cosmetics-only cash shop. It can be purchased through Gameforge or through Steam.

When playing Swords of Legends Online, you are a cultivator on the path to immortality who seeks to improve your power by binding to a fragment of a sword spirit. While you are successful in connecting to the Bladeheart, an unforeseen mishap occurs which poisons your Bladeheart and puts the spirit at risk. Your journey involves seeking out ways to purify and strengthen your Bladeheart while learning more about the strange and dangerous forces endangering both the mortal and immortal realms.
What do you do?
Gameplay in SOLO features content for PvE, PvP, and PvX. Endgame content includes dungeons, raids (to be released in the West), and open world bosses for PvE. PvP takes place in the Valley of Blades for roaming PvP, or in structured 10v10 and 3v3 matchups; players can also duel in open world, or Rampage and kill non-hostile players (though they are at risk of accumulating bad karma and being sent to jail). For non-combative content, there are several life skills including gathering, fishing, cooking, crafting, treasure hunting, collections, and achievements. There is a housing system available at cap, and a separate Leisureland with mini-games. All in all, this is a colorful game with something for everyone.
